What Is a family asset protection trust Plus?
A Family Asset Protection Trust Plus (FAPT+) can provide further protection when your client’s total estate value requires access to the RNRB as well as the NRB.

What is the difference between an FAPT+ and a standard FAPT?
An FAPT+ gives the client more coverage for a larger estate. They can gain access to the Residence Nil Rate Band (RNRB) which is an extra £175,000 tax free transferable allowance for the distribution of their estate. Note that this is only applicable if the client has linear descent (including step and foster children).
